Golf Performance Enhancement Program

In addition to traditional Physical Therapy, I also specialize in improving Golf performance by analyzing the movement of your body, making recommendations to correct tight, weak or imbalanced muscles along with improving joint mobility and posture to allow you to utilize proper swing mechanics. I have participated in several post graduate courses specializing in improving golf performance and preventing injury. This is not done as Golf professional but as a healthcare professional with advanced knowledge of anatomy, biomechanics and posture and how all three influences the golf swing. Do you have trouble making a full turn? How about getting in the proper setup position to start? How about your follow through, do you wrap the club around you back or are you able to elevate and extend your arms? Does your back or shoulder hurt after golf? Are your drives 30 yards less than they use to be? All these things can be improved with an evaluation and participation in a golf performance enhancement program.

Now is the time to do it. In preparation for spring and a new golf season you can begin work on correcting the issues that limit your enjoyment of the game we all love. Most golfers would easily spend $400 or more for a new driver with the hopes of adding distance. Unfortunately it is usually wasted money. A better approach is to improve the way your body works and then spend the time with your Golf professional correcting your swing flaws. But first you MUST correct the faulty biomechanics created by your current body. Golf lessons will be wasted money if your body cannot get into the right positions or maintain the proper swing planes.

The process is simple and will be performed by David Bertone, PT, OCS, a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist and certified in the Back To Golf™ program:

  1. Perform a Biomechanical Evaluation - $150
A musculoskeletal screening exam will be completed to assess your mobility, strength, posture, flexibility specific to the needs of the golf swing. Then your swing will be videotaped and analyzed for biomechanical faults.
  2. 6 week Golf Specific Functional Training Program - $600
A strength and conditioning program will be designed and supervised to improve your ability to perform the correct golf swing, to increase your strength and flexibility and to reduce your chance of injury. Golf fitness is essential for a true enjoyment of the game. This program will be performed 2 times per week over a course of 6 weeks.
  3. Manual therapy treatment - $650
6 visits with a physical therapist specifically trained in Orthopedic manual therapy. This program will address deficiencies detected during the swing analysis and musculoskeletal screening exam. Manual therapy techniques such as joint mobilization, soft tissue mobilization, passive stretching and neuromuscular rehabilitation will be used to correct biomechanical faults.
  4. Complete Back to Golf™ program - $1200
This will include the Biomechanical evaluation, Golf Specific Functional training program, and Manual Therapy Treatment performed over a 6 week period.
